An African safari in Costa Rica! Is it possible? Yes it is! It is located just a few miles outside of Liberia, on the way to all of the hottest beach destinations of the Guancaste province.
Before I started my great adventure of riding through the "Plains of Africa" my family and I went feeding the ostriches, camels and a deer. You can have the inside view of these animals about how hungry they are, if you can escape a bite from them. This happens super rarely.
Since it's impossible to quench these animals, the tour will take you inside the plains and up close to zebras and gazelles only. It's the closest you'll ever get to these animals so make sure to take a ton of pictures, I know I did. I even got the grand opportunity to see a mama zebra nursing her baby.
I think you would get the true sense of it. The calmness in which it moves, the absolute harmlessness and tenderness that it exudes overcomes you and when you get back to the main building you can't help but have a silly grin on your face.
I've been to many safaris (never in Africa) but none left me feeling this capricious, and it's all because of the GIRAFFE! (At least it was for me.) Trust me; you may feel the same as I do. However, this tour is not worth the money of $60. As I said, I've been to my share of safaris and they all had predator animals.
However, this tour is not worth the money of $60. As I said, I've been to my share of safaris and they all had predator animals. There weren't any here and their collection is so small that they can't even fill the two hour tour so they take you on a whimsy hike to a small waterfall. As much as I loved the Giraffes, I wasn't pleased with the amount of money they charge per person and the lack of animals to back up the price!
